How is it assessed?
- Eye movement, balance and positional assessment; audiometry when hearing symptoms are present.
- Medication, blood-pressure or other medical causes may need assessment by another specialist.

- Confirmed BPPV may benefit from repositioning; other causes may need vestibular rehabilitation or selected medication.
When is prompt or emergency care needed?
- New weakness, slurred speech, double vision or sudden inability to walk with dizziness needs emergency care.
